Ethos

OVERVIEW

We view environmental and social responsibility efforts as a necessity when building and operating a brand modern day. For this reason, we have rooted these values into all aspects of Lauren Bentley Swimwear. While we remain far from where we strive to one day be in these efforts, we intend to consistently and intentionally improve as we grow.

As a brand operating in the apparel sector, we are acutely aware of the environmental impacts of its supply chain. This knowledge is the reason why we design swimwear that stands the test of time, in both quality and style, rather than products that could become disposable with changing seasons. Every detail is purposeful, ensuring finished products that will keep our customers delighted for years to come.

PRODUCT

Our trims and fabrics have been meticulously sourced by our team, as quality is our highest priority. We believe each notion should be sourced individually with great care. Varying geographical regions, similarly to varying suppliers, have respective capabilities, knowhow, and quality. We take these factors and more into consideration when sourcing to ensure all notions meet our standards, and ultimately our customer’s standards. Our notions are mainly sourced in Europe.

Our products are produced in Portugal, a country renowned for having one of the strongest textile industries in Europe. The country has rich history in the industry, which is showcased by their exquisite craftsmanship. Like our ethos on product, we place great importance on partnering with organizations that share our commitment to quality and ethics.

PARTNERSHIPS

Our partnerships play a large role in our ability to execute on our values. Whether it be with suppliers, manufacturers, or other organizations, we take great care to ensure all partners share our commitment to our values.

We have purposefully partnered with businesses that are dedicated to environmental and social responsibilities. Some of the certifications our manufacturers hold include The Global Standard for Organic Textiles (GOTS), ISO Quality Standards, Global Recycled Standard (GRS), and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS).

CLIMATE COMMITMENT

For every order we receive, a formula is used to calculate the estimated shipping emissions. Based on those estimates, a portion of our revenue goes to carbon removal companies that have been vetted by scientists from Carbon Direct. Those companies use that money to remove however much carbon our shipments created. Any extra funds go toward the further development of carbon removal technologies.
